That's why I shop at my LHS!

what is wrong with Hobby Hobby or Skycraft? Both are gtreat places to raom around in... I never leave empty handed.

I only shop online for things that neither of them can get.

I was looking at buying a gasser from out west but now Skycraft is stocking DA Engines .. and at real good prices.. Hows this :

DA50 = CDN$ 720.00
DA100 = CDN$ 1400.00
DA150 = CDN$ 1950.00

Can"t bring one in from the US for those prices.

Smarten up and support your Local Hobby Shop!

You may not be aware but there is another one called Radio Controlled Wings n Things.

Its 6435 Erin Mills Parkway. 905-812-3033.

Like all stores their prices are lower and higher than some. But they have forced HH to lower theirs.

Give them a try.

I have had so many unpleasant experiences in procuring the bits and pieces for this hobby that I have decided to not get into the hobby at all.
Ya - I tried my LHS too and got robbed there as well.
It's my experience that almost every RC vendor is very skilled at screwing me over one way or another.
We'll it's time for me to screw them back and not get into the hobby at all.
The whole thing is one major headache.
The whole industry is one big con job.
I've learned my lesson.

FLYSRC. You make a very good point and I know there isn't one person on here that wouldn't help or discourage anyone from the sport.

Dershark. Before you make a rash descision like this, at least let some of us help you in what you need. I may not be able to help you directly but I know one way or another there is someone who can.

Dershark,

Allow me to share a personal experience.

When I started in this hobby back in the 90's, I went to a local hobby shop (no names mentioned but the guys in Windsor know whom I'm refering (C.C)). I paid $85 for a second hand Fox 40 with no muffler, the shop owner told me I could fly without a muffler. Of course when I brought it to the field everyone asked where the muffler was. I didn't know anything about noise restrictions and the fuel tank needing the back pressure for positive flow.

The store owner then sold my girlfriend a 4 channel AM Futaba for $285.

After getting to know the other club members, asking questions, reading articles on items and checking around I learned not to get hosed. The first thing I did was stop going to that LHS and let everyone know what he did.

I guess my point is, your not alone, we (I) have been there. If you have a question about something ASK anyone of us is more than willing to help out.

Don't give up, this is a great hobby and there are alot of great guys (and the odd girl) with a wealth of knowledge.

Sorry for being long winded. Chris

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like my kid. His bad marks are "because every teacher is stupid and doesn't know how to teach". : : :

You seem to have mistaken the words " almost every" to mean "ALL"
That is the error in your equation.
