Hotbodies Lightning Gt 1/8 Monster Truck
Got my Hotbodies Lightning GT truck Yesterday. Broke it in today with no issues. I would say speed/torque is comparable to the Savage 25. The stock wheels and tires are 7" 40 sieries. The suspension has all the baisic adjustments. The dual High torque steering servos turn the wheels with ease. The radio box is a good size. The only thing was the antena was routed out through the bottom of the raio box touching the chassis. This was causing major clitching. I fixed that by drilling a small hole at the top of the box and exiting the antena through there. This solved the glitching problem. The roto start unit is just like the Savage's.The wheelbase is 14.5" and the truck is 17" wide. The ground clearance is 3.5" Where this truck shines is in its handling abilities. It corners as well as most 1/8 buggies and its totaly impossible to flip this thing over, even on pavement. I have had many truck and currently own a Savage a Tmaxx and a Revo and in my personal opinion this truck out handles all three of them including the Revo. If anyone is looking for a big block basher that can easily be raced this is the truck to look at. I initialy perchased this truck to possibly resale, but i think its a keeper...for now.

hotbodies lightning gt
My LHS doesnt carry parts for this truck either. what i usually do is buy the usual breakage parts. like A-Arms, bulk heads, diff gears, and so on. I wil keep you posted if anything breaks. I forgot to mention that this truck alsa has aluminum bulk head braces in the front and the rear, so bulk heads should be able to take a good beating. it also comes stock with 4 spider gears in the front and the back. All gears on this truck are made of hardnes steel, including the spure gear. shock shafts are 3.5mm. Front and rear shock towers are 4mm alum. The body posts and bumpers are the beafiest i have ever seen on an rc truck. I will beat the hell out of this truck tomorrow and i will let you guys know how it goes.

Ok took it out today. I re-tuned the engine and all I can say is.....AMAZING!!! this thing will lift the front end (slightly) keep in mind the wheels are 7" in diameter!! Still couldnt get it to flip over. Did lots of jumps, climbing and it just came back for more. I am amazed at this thing. it will out handle, out bash and out run my Revo!! Look no further if your looking for a racer that is fast and can handle a beating.
