With the ever changing delivery date, I think it might be the Christmas Radio. Depending on weather you are knotty or nice, you may or may not get one for Christmas!

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 hitting the market ASAP!!

I heard that they won't be available until mid 2011 but if you pre-order now they'll come with an electric nose picker (U.S. only, those of us in Canada will, as usual, be left with a hand-full of boogers while the U.S. markets get the great deals)

Dale Hunter, last time I saw you flying it had a distictly internal combustion sound, and I don't know anyone who runs his saitos smokeyer :P

2.4GHz Product Delay

Quote:
Notice Regarding Product Delay of the Spectra 2.4 GHz Module and 7 Channel Optima Receiver:

Due to increased concerns regarding low voltage and 2.4GHz receivers, Hitec is taking some additional time to refine the “LOW VOLTAGE WARNING” Telemetry system. We sincerely apologize for the delay but it is our desire to have the best product possible when it enters the market. Expected delivery is early August.
They didn't say what year

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 hitting the market ASAP!!

I love Hitec, I still have my Challenger 620 FM even.
They made RC affordable.

I was just pointing out that even though Hitec PAYS someone to answer questions, the questions are going unanswered.

Are you selling Hitec? because you are taking my observations a bit personally.

I will most likely own a Hitec Aurora or the next generation thereafter, when I get tired of my Futaba 9ZAP

I still want a pink GWS TX for my daughter.

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 hitting the market ASAP!!

To put this in perspective, some manufacturers have rushed to market with problems (XPS, JR, Futaba) others have waited (Sanwa, Hitec/Multiplex) some new suppliers have popped up (Assan, Corona, Flydream/HobbyKing, Flysky, Esky ...) while others have promised and not delivered (Sombra Labs).

It will all be determined by what the consumers want and the interweb opinion as to who prevails.

Hitec promised the robot builders a 2.4 GHz optic 6 quite a while back.
They may be a bit late on that one when you can buy a basic six channel now for US$30.

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 hitting the market ASAP!!

I like Hi-tec as well, A year ago I rounded up all my Hi-tec equipment and sent it off to a good buddy way out in the country. Only because I bought a 9303, on 72. This year I have become active in gliders again. Which makes me want to upgrade to 2.4 . I have been waiting, and holding off on my 2.4 decision. I would really like to try there glider programs. But now this Saturday is a big event 4 hrs down the road, so I upgrade my J.R. equipment.
This is only one consumer, and it represent 100% of all the upgrades at my house. Now see how many others are doing the same at the field?

Re: Hitec Aurora 9 hitting the market ASAP!!

Talked to Hitec today and it looks like the end of Sept now for the Aurora. I own a Multiplex Evo 12 and was led to believe when the 2.4 module was made available we in North America would be able to upgrade as well. It turns out that Multiplex will not pay for the certification in the US and Canada and are leaving that up to the importer Hitec. They will not do this as they feel there are not enough Multiplex users to justify the cost. If you are a Multiplex user it looks like you are out of luck if you are waiting for an OEM conversion to 2.4. I have been a long time user of Hitec products and have never been disappointed with their products or support until I talked to them today. Last time I talked to Mike Mayberry in Toledo I expressed interest in a radio that had more than seven channels. I also asked about the availability of 2.4 at that time. I was told that they were looking into the 2.4 but there was nothing firm at that time about a radio with greater capability. As to more channels Mike recommended the Multiplex line and mentioned there would be full support and upgrades available. I would not have bought this radio if I knew we would be left out in the cold when it came to upgrading to 2.4. I now own a 12 channel radio that is upgradeable to 2.4 in Europe but not here. Thanks for your support but my tough luck I guess. It’s a hard pill to swallow when the support that I have become accustom to when dealing with Hitec is changing and not for the better.
