6ex with r617fs

I have a very unusual, to me, problem. I am using a futaba 6ex spread spectrum transmitter with a supposedly futaba R617FS receiver. the problem is, all of the channel assignments are reversed. channel 1 (Aileron) is actually on channel 4, channel 2 (elevator) is channel 3, channel 3 (Throttle) is on channel 2, and channel 4 is assigned to channel 1.

Has anyone seen this ????

Re: 6ex with r617fs

Wilf:

More likely got set up in a different "MODE" in the programming. The standard mode that most aircraft flyers use is "MODE 2" ------- Ail=1, Elev=2, Rudd=3, Throt=4.
In the manual on page 34, it tells you how to change the MODE (stick Mode). If you don't have a manual, you can get one from the Futaba website.

Hopefuly this will help. I have a new 6EX set and haven't used it yet, but I see the info in my manual.

I was going to say "mode" configuration as well.

Re: 6ex with r617fs

Thank you gentlemen, you nailed the problem right on the head. My grandson admitted that he may have accidentally changed to mode 3 but didn't realize it. I still feel foolish that after all the tears I have been in this hobby, that I did not realizing that it was a mode problem.

Thanks from a grateful but humbled man...
