New Year Banner Tow

After less than successful attempt at New Year 2010, we just had to try towing a New Year's greeting banner again this year. With advice from an old thread by Dave Holmes and an article referred to therein we came up with a multi-segment banner. I added a temporary servo to the back of my 25e Stik plugged into the Gear output on my Rx to make a release hook. The first attempt the banner pulled apart. The second attempt after repairs and strengthening is shown in the video. Camera had some trouble focusing in the sky shots but you get the idea.

Re: New Year Banner Tow

Well done!

I am glad I was able to offer some pointers to assist, and now it looks like I better get off my duff and tow a real banner, not just the flag I've been flying.

Dave,

I like the idea of a flag - especially a Canadian flag on July 1st.

Full details are available on how I do it on my club's website.

I cannot post the link as it was removed from my signature block for being 'commercial' .

Do a search for 'prince edward radio control flying club' to find it.
