New to electric offroad

Hey everyone, I'm getting into electric offroad and just want to get everybody's opinion on what is the best 2wd buggy, 4wd buggy and 2wd truck? Also what hobby shops are stocking parts and gear? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Andrew.

Read the posts Andrew.. its not so much what is the best, as what you can get parts for and what is popular to get setup help.

2wd - B4 mostly around here
4wd - Real mix, but a lot of Kyosho and JBcon. stuff(now AE)
Truck - Pretty much AE T4 - but some Losi (depends if you can get parts)

As posts and results at Sid's will prove.. its not what you drive as much as how you drive it.

Whats your LHS??

The new Kyosho RB5 2wd car is pretty good and Derry @ Galaxy Hobby stocks all the parts for them. This area is dominated by the B4 though.

4WD has lots of options. Mostly J Concepts BJ4's but more Lazers have been popping up as well.

Ya! Go Laser! I am starting to get back to Kyosho. I used to run them and now I'm coming back.

I just wish now they would make a Stadium Truck.

Have you been to the track yet? If not, come check out the club race next weekend and you can see a variety of cars in action!

Hi Andrew,

Yes, by all means come to the track.

You will find a great group of racers and organizers that will be happy to answer any questions and help you get started.

I'm sure if you let us know who you are and why you're there and ask nicely, you can even take a few test laps to gain an appreciation of what class/brand/model of vehicle is best for you.

See you there,

Narly1

Associated is a great choice - the B4 2WD is an awesome buggy... and they just purchased BJ Concepts and will be launching a 4WD using that design. I have driven the B4, the Losi XXXCR and the Kyosho RB5, my opinion of the three are that they are all awesome buggies so it's really your choice. If I can give some advice, buy one car now vs. an entire fleet. Getting used to offroad vs. racing onroad is a little different when it comes to driving characteristics. My suggestion would be to buy a 2WD first since once you can drive that car well, you'll be able to run any of the other classes without any problem.

Welcome - and as suggested, you may want to take a trip to Sid's this weekend to see the variety of stuff that everyone is using.
