The first pic shows the vacated servo mount. 2nd pic is the new MG82 placed in for comparison to the old space. The 3rd is the MG82 installed with it's new servo arm on and push rods connected exactly as they were before.

Did you use the stock setup on the servos and were the resultant throws OK. I don't like how the push-rods secure to the control surfaces or the servos for that matter. Is your Tx computer assisted?

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

The stock throws seem ok for now. I've got a bunch of Multiplex pushrods connectors that I might end up using. My radio is a Spektrum dx6. I just finished installing a backlight on the display. What an improvement!

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

I'm going to try to Z bend them at least, but the multiplex connectors would be great.
Plus 1 for back lighting (especially for night fly).

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

The Flyzone Sensei is a great plane. I have had mine for 2 seasons. As it was my first plane it is a little banged up but still fly's fantastic. I have modded mine with the e-flight 480 motor and 40A esc, I also upgraded the nose/rudder servo to the hs-65mg. I fly this off a grass field and has no issues at all taking off or landing, sometimes i forget to hold my flare and it will nose in but other than that no issues. As far as acrobatics go with that motor, esc, and 10-7 prop it is really stable and likes to do stuff that other trainers refuse to do. I could not be happier with the sensei

Thanks Max. It's coming along nicely but I'm in no hurry as spring seems a long way off. I'm changing the battery connectors to 4mm bullet and then I'll do a test run on the motor/propeller/ESC/batt to check the amps & watts & ventilation.

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

Hi Ben; Thanks for the heads up about landing it. Glad it's working well as that sounds like how mine is modded. Did you use recommended throws and CG? Are you set up for slightly nose heavy??? Are you flying the stock batt?

Did you mod yours by choice or necessity? I've read forums where earlier versions had esc & motor issues, but mine was fresh from Flyzone in Jan. I'm hoping that most issues have been resolved, however, there's a 45A esc and bigger motor on standby. We've got a bright sunny day @ +8 right now. I'm going to try a 9x6 prop and see what happens.

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

I think the problems may have been solved at this point too, but like I said it's going to be a trainer for our club eventually and I like bullet proofing now better than clumsy feild repairs later. The cowl removal and mag latch mod would be one I would recommend reguardless.
Can you test your setup for power consumption with that prop. Bleyva used the 10-7 and found it OK.

Re: Flight info ??? for Flyzone Sensei Trainer

I don't have a wattmeter yet, it's on the to buy list. I don't know if it was the prop or the soggy field, but I was totally underwhelmed! Take off run was huge.I'm back to the stock prop for now.
