hehehe, Darren. Boy, do I wish I was that young again! Back then I could go out and practice all 10 FAI maneuvers, remembering all and their sequence. No I would need a caller hollering them into my ear as they come up as not only would I not remember them and their sequence, but I would probably have trouble hearing him if he did not holler!

That said, those where heady days, back in the late 80's and early 90's for RC helis. It has been great watching all the technical advances in heli and design and electronics....not to mention how all of it has now developed into true 4 dimensional flying machines.

Ditto for rotor blade development. I would not have even thought to auto a 30 Shuttle with its' stock one piece wood blades back in the mid 80's. But now, with then FK and RT blades, even doing autos with my scale Long Ranger was a fun maneuver many times per flight.

Here is another old video from 1989. It is one of my H500E with Shuttle mechanics.

Re: Show off your scale birds. Post pictures HERE :)

Going through some photos and came a cross a good one from the heli rally in September at the Calgary RC Heli Club field.

It is an RC Aerodyne AS350 fuselage (early version), T-Rex 600 Electric mechanics, and detailed with a ProLine Basket from Leisure Tech. Scale interior and lights are also installed.

Next year it gets the long line attachments. I've already got the fuel drums for a simulated net load and will have a bambi bucket to hang from it as well. Mirrors and hanging hook are on the list for this winter.

Looks good. I have the same basket on mine and I can tell you that it caught so many times on my pants that I ended up leaving it off for a long time. The "U" pipes were only plastic and snapped off every time. I rebuilt it before Helicopter Scale Masters using brass tubing in place of the plastic. Yes, I have caught it on my pants but this time, the brass held up and no damage to the rest of the basket. I also am planning to add the Bambi bucket to augment my CH-139 and in the end, use it only on the AS350. What will be fun is making the wire rope cradle for the underside of the helicopter. I think both of us need some good detail shots of the setup for the AS350, lol. Take care.

Once it warms up a bit, I have a contact at the local airport that owns a heli company and has an AS350 with the inverted A frame cargo hook setup. My plan is to get some detail shots and build one like that. I'll be happy to share once, I get a chance to take some pics.

Nice fleet, Bryan. Bob, anytime for the pictures as it is a long term project (no "must do" finish date). Take care.

Just realised while checking my youtube that I had taped my Bell 230 450 last summer. Just a few sec at the end of the clip...

Re: Show off your scale birds. Post pictures HERE :)

With less than a week since new, I just started forward flight. Mechanics are Gartt G700 (T-Rex clone 11/115 main ratio mod 1) with shorter tailboom & cut side frames, Savox BSM 5065-450kv on 11s 3300 with Opto 120A ESC, AR7200BX & KST HV servos. Head is slightly modified CNC 700 size (to fit SAB HPS-3 swash) with 4mm holes. Blades are Fun-key 600 SS scale. Main shaft is custom lenght to clear doghouse (about 20mm longer than DFC).

Head lock is set at lowest sensitivity, cyclic 6-7 degrees with pitch set at -2.5, 6 (55% power) & 11 (85%) no governor yet, flies great! I'm amazed at how agile and stable it is.

Have a great summer season all!
