For those who plane spot! - This flew in and out of Ottawa last night 14 Aug 2006 - The sound of 2 pusher Turboprops had a distinct higher whine than normal turboprop designs. Would make a great RC Electric design eh! Anyone got plans?

I believe the following covers it. Copied from the Piaggio web site.

FERRARI'S CHOICE
On Thursday, May 18, 2000, Piaggio Aero industries delivered an Avanti P180 executive turboprop - to Ferrari.

The ceremony took place at Piaggio Aero's Headquarters.

In May 2000, The 'Prancing horse', Ferrari's symbol went back to original birth place, an airplane

Few people know its true story.

The Prancing Horse
In 1931, Enzo Ferrari created his "Scuderia", allowing its gentleman partners to race, and finally succeeded in forming an official racing team. For the first time the 'prancing horse', the emblem of the great First World War flying ace, Francesco Baracca was placed on the hooks of their automobiles.

Ferrari recalls: "In 1923 when I won the first circuit of the Savio at Ravenna, I met Countess Paolina, mother of the great war hero,

'Ferrari, put the 'prancing horse' emblem of my son on your automobiles. It will bring you good luck!

The Avanti P180 was in Ferrari livery bearing the world famous 'prancing horse'. In a season that has seen the return of Maranello's great Formula One stable as winner of last year's constructors' title.

Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, President and CEO of Ferrari, took delivery of the Avanti P180.

They say trees are 90% air. Personally I think they are 100% tree.

Hi,

We saw it landing on Pearson International on Saturday afternoon, its does have very different sound for its pusher turbo props and very distant one too.

It flew over our field on the final into runway 06L....
(I hope i got runway right)

Very different looking aircraft for sure!...

Couldn't see marking from Altitude!

I just grabed the photo from the web because of the model type! - I couldn't tell who's it was flying into Ottawa! It was basically white all over.

The Piaggio you saw may have been Trans Canada Pipeline's corporate ride. Theirs is white with light blue highlights.
Lands here in YQT all the time to refuel.

Cheers,
Tom

One of those planes flew over Toronto this evening maybe around 6:30, I really like the sound of it.
