Thanks - I hadn't considered that one because of the fuse length. It could be an older 1/5 scale CG Cub with a clipped wing mod.

I can help you with that, Bob.

I know the original builder. He is now an old, frail gentleman and has left the hobby. It has changed hands a few times before it got to Yuval, and I presume he sold it to you. All told this plane has VERY LOW airtime. It is practically brand new.

It is a Carl Goldberg Cub. The design is solid. Like all Goldberg cub's, it flies great. The wings are so strong it does not need the struts as you would see in the full size model. The struts are in the original design but are simply a cosmetic addition.

I did test fly your plane for its previous owner this summer. It flies great. The 60 in it provides plenty of "go"- this design flew very well with a 45 engine. a 60 makes it a powerhouse.

I believe when I flew it, I took off at 50% throttle and cruised at 30% throttle. I never flew above 50% for all the test flights that I made on that plane

The only thing you have to watch for is the adverse-yaw that comes with any high aspect-ratio wing. You need to add rudder in your turns. More experienced pilots dont have a problem doing this as part of their normal flying. For novices that have difficulty doing this, I suggest Aileron-->Rudder mixing to make it handle and corner smoothly.

If you have any other questions about the cub or this particular model, just ask!

Cheers,
Max

Re: Cub Info Needed

Unfortanitly I dont think you can get goldberg parts anymore since they are owned by greatplanes now you can only get the kits.

A hangar-9 40 size cub cowl will fit your cub just fine though and you are going to love the goldberg cub I have built one and nothing flies like it!!
