Hey Pat, would you let us know how that frog tape works? I have to paint a plane myself but won't be starting for another couple of months and was thinking of trying it. When did you intend to start your paint job?

Re: Paint Masking

HI Colin

I have already started, the 3 times I went to Canadian Tire they were sold out, and Rona & Home Depot told me they were not going to carry it. I used the blue low tack masking tape, (forget the green). The blue worked OK, I still hade some small touch ups to do but all in all not to bad you decide.

Re: Paint Masking

you can get frog tape at most paint shops
also if you use a clear coat in all your tape lines before puting color on it will reduce
the bleed through
i use a good electrical tape for all my fine lines

Re: Paint Masking

Lowes in Brantford, Ont had several boxes of Frog tape on the shelf. Both 1" and 1.5" (I think) widths. Just picked a roll up tonight.

Frog tape is expensive compared to green painters tape... about 3x as much. I hope it's worth it...
