Thanks Trevor...I will chat with Brad.

Hanes, that's my worry..It's the drag, not the weight.

I built 2 ACE 33% Extra 230's back in the day. Both weighed 25lbs and flew well on a G62. Not 3D style of course.

Just curious if you gents think the 70 is enough engine for decent flying if the weight came in at 23-24 lbs?
Jack,
I will be able to tell you in another week or 2 if the 70 is enough for a 3dhs 103 - 330.
I have one I am rebuilding.
actually .... parts from 2 that I am making one out of. Almost done.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

The drag shouldn't be an issue. The wings are thin. So is the fuselage.

The zdz 112 pulls my 42% Slick with authority.
you can see in the videos from this past weekend. It goes straight up from a dead stop pretty quick.

But Jack!!... Can you hold out that long?? I have a feeling there's some serious twitching out there? We're hearing reports of some seismic activity in Alberta.

Funny.

As I told him dragging that cargo trailer back so empty was going to hurt him.
I even suggested that Cheryl buy some furniture to ease the pain.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Side by side. The fuse on the 100xx slick is massive compared to the 50
Da100l is a good match and minimum for a twin IMHO
I cannot comment on the extra 330 I have never compared to two side-by-side

Well let's see...... the 14mz is heavier. The 18mz weighs the same.
The Graupner feels like a dx5.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Hi Hanes,
We have parked the 330 and the Slick side by side.
The Slick fuselage is much much taller. And the wings are a fair bit thicker.

The 103 330 is a small 35%. But it does have a deep chord on the wings to get its massive wing area .
