I'm 80% done a Unionville Norseman, looking at either a Mike Smart Designs Hornet Moth on DIY (design it yourself) floats or a Mr. Aerodesign CL-415. Or both.

I've got the plans and FG bits for the Hornet Moth, I keep my cursor hovering over the Paypal button on the Mr. Aerodesign website for a couple of minutes each morning to make up for the lack of caffeine in my coffee...gets the heart rate up for the commute into the city.

Thanks for the link, haven't seen that product line before. My cottage neighbour has an Avistar and I'm going to recommend the 40 size quiet pipe from this company. It will be interesting to compare noise levels between the commercial pipe and my $5 special...a tuned pipe it ain't!

Hello; I currently have; a big Bingo with a saito 80
A Sig Spacewalker 1/4 with Saito 120, and
a Schneider cup racer, something between Supermarine SB2 and Macchi Folgore, it also has a Saito 80 powering it. I like the Spacewalker on floats, I have been flying the Bingo for 12 years, it needs re-covering.

Flying off water.. ANY water..

Anyone following the thread about flying off small ponds in the Waterplanes forum in E-Zone? Man, some of these guys are good, particularly the one flying off a woodland stream!

Well, it looks like I must try floats for sure. I just picked up TWO sets at our club meeting and annual auction tonight. Paid 20 bucks each set.

First have not yet been finished, balsa and foam construction, 45 inches long, flat bottomed, beautifully built. Should be good for a Kadet Senior.

Second set 40.5 inches long, v-bottom, already painted yellow, have been flown many times, complete with dual water rudders, etc, should be good for the GP Piper cub.

Now I guess I have no excuse.

Dave
