i just finished this plane and balancing it seems to be very frusterating. i used the glues and the epoxies in all the right places but maaan this thing is tail heavy all the way. any suggestions out there.

YUP,
I bought am easysport 60 of RRC last year. I put a Saito 91 up front, I is supposed to balance on the spar but man it was way way tail heavy. I have almost a 1/2 pound of weight to make it fly like it's balanced, Not unflyable and draggin tail.

What engine do you have in it?

You can move the battery as far forward as possible.
Also, mount the engine as far out on the mount as you can.

If it is still way off, you will probably have to get out the lead!

Don't fly it unless it is in the range. How far behind the range is it balancing?

I am not familiar with the construction, but judging from the pictures I am assuming the fuselage is a solid balsa box?

You have probably already got it covered, but if you don't then why not get out the exacto knife and start cutting some lightening holes in the back end of the fuselage? Turn it into an open structure. Use thin CA to stiffen up all the balsa that is left behind. Do this "strategically" of course. You should be able to shed 1/2 of the balsa without compromising the strength. Just one random thought. It is what I would do rather than add any significant amount of weight to the nose to balance it.

Other options:
- move all radio gear as far forward as possible
- use a bigger heavier engine
- put the engine as far forward on the rails as possible
- draw on your past building experiences and extend the nose of the fuselage 1" to 3". To get the engine further forward.

Exhaust all other possibilities before adding any weight.
