Interesting there is not much about this kit online. Recently finished a Kadet but decided to make it different but the same so decided to try it as a taildragger. Have some floats for it as well. The tail has a brass tube and additional strength in the tail section. Light but solid with light ply. Using a Thunder tiger Pro .42 with pitts muff.

Reinforcement on the rudder with the tailwheel clamped additionally by the control horn. Tailwheel is music wire bent to fit and aligns perfectly when rudder is neutral with 20 degrees caster.Main gear is at LE of wing.

Veritical stab is filleted and is light but stronger due to tailwheel attachment. Balances great with the battery and RX up front and no added weight.
Funny how this seems to be touted a great trainer by many but not much about completed ones online.
Curious how well it will fly, guess when the sun comes out we'll find out.
I understand they are supposed to be good on floats. Looking forward to sunshine.

Thanks

Two kits to decide on building now. Have a Balsa USA Citabria Pro and a Sig Hog Biplane. The Citabria would probably make a good second plane and likely that's next. Using a Nextstar at the moment. Hope the MKll flies as well as the ARF.
Thanks large for the thought on a model you hear about but don't see much on. For a beginner kit it's an easy build with good tips and information. It seems to me to be a great introduction to building a kit. Learned a lot from it and had much reinforced that I already knew. The supporting manual/tips booklet that comes with is great and a beginning kit builder would have a tough time going wrong. The only thing I wish I had done is put direct servos to each aileron.

Ah, but like you say, it's all about learning ('ron servos).

Next time!

An example is my TF Corsair. Plans call for one servo and a bell crank for the flaps.

I'm using two servos for those. Don't have to worry about sloppy linkage, etc.

Re: Kadet MKll Taildragger

Here's some video of the maiden flights of the plane on floats at Kalamlaka Lake Vernon BC. Flys better than the Nextstar.

Re: Kadet MKll Taildragger

Have a (vintage) SIG kit for one that I've been wishing to start for years, and a spare wing kit - they're fantastic kits and ditto fliers! My brother and I built a MKI many years ago with an Enya 35 and it served him well until.....
I want to build my MKII straight and the spare wing kit with the drooped leading edge a la NASA and Andy Lennon and would have to make the ailerons inset barn-door style to function properly with the drooped leading edge - got it all figured out and written down!! Since the radio gear is so much lighter these days, fancied using those rather nice Super Tiger G34s' in it - any ideas anyone?? Saw a youngster flying one very nicely many years ago with a ,25 in it (Fox?), but then he was a beginner and wasn't hot-dogging. Flew well though and with older radio gear.

Re: Kadet MKll Taildragger

After flying this plane for a while had a problem with the engine leaking air and made a change to a .53 but the kit cowl wouldn't fit. Here's what I came up with for a cowl. Looks some different from the origional.
