Radikal's new digs

Finally the weather took a turn for the better today - got out flying a bit.

I just finished the new canopy for my Radikal as well, its one of the Century fiberglass canopies done in white gelcoat. I just got some model car spray paint and did an easy scheme, but it looks good in the air. The new canopy is lighter as well than the blow molded plastic one.

I also was flying a new set of 640 RT mains, a new set of RT tail blades and carbon paddles ( the 3D ones but with the weights out all the way).

And, I finally got my metal swashplate - its totally without any slop and it feels VERY much more accurate.

The engine was also loving the cool temps today, felt a lot more powerful than when it was very hot out in the summer.

Anyhow, it was good to get back to flying the heli!!

AJC

Re: Radikal's new digs

It sure is a damn sharp heli isn't it?

Looks great Andrew. Those RT's will treat your right too. I love 'em and use 'em - from the 320's to the 810's and everything in between.

Re: Radikal's new digs

No video, havnt got a camera. Want to buy a digital video camera though, will some day.

I was flying the RT 620's (and will on my other Radikal which will be for "3D") but this one has the 640's.

I dont know if it was more the new swash plate, or the carbon paddles, or a combination of the two - but man it was groovin' today

I upped my expo as well. I was also flying on low rates, trying to hover precisely. MAN thats HARD! A lot harder than flying around having fun...

AJC

PS I have a second canopy the same as this one, but its going to get a three color higher vis scheme for my hot dogging machine. Need all the help I can get to keep track of whats what in the air
