Thats great to hear Cory!
I have a couple serious questions for you.

1st: did you try the CA?
2nd: what brewery does your uncle work at, and can we get samples in lieu of loctite?

I seen a couple pinions with set screws on HK, if you're comfortable doing it. My pinion was already attached, so I didn't mess with it. A HK motor at that.

No I never tried CA.

Not really 100% sure what you meant by samples but I'll send ya a pm

Actually I found some pinions that scorpion makes, they come in a set with a 14t, 15t and 16t for less then $10. I'm gonna get rotorquest to bring in a set for me

Re: Trex 250 pro dfc build and discussion

Just showing all the loctites and how they have an expiry date on them.

Both brand new bottles of the lynx stuff went into the trash earlier today.

Pinion is re cleaned and re loctited again. I ended up still using the green and wow I can already tell it's drying a million times better

Re: Trex 250 pro dfc build and discussion

well if its not one thing its the next!!!!

I got the pinion to hold on good now and now I've been battling with the bolt on the bottom holding the main gear on, I've spun the bolt off TWICE now

IT'S GETTING RED LOCTITE, THAT'S IT!!!!

Your telling me lol, thats for sure.

Pretty dissapointed about it, never ever woulda thought I'd have this many problems. This was suppose to be a way for me and my dad to do a project together and something that would make us spend some time together, but with all these problems it has definetly made me regret it. Keep trying to keep positive about it and chuckle and say well maybe she'll be good by the indoor season lol :P. I'm hoping after the main gear gets red loctite, the kinks will be all out and I'll get a BUNCH of flights in and love the damn thing(crossin fingers).

I did get it fixed, and I got all the zyx-s problems all sorted out. After that it was a matter of issues with the heli and not the fbl unit. The pinion of the motor kept coming off 2 or 3 times on me. I finnally got that sorted and now the main gear bolt keeps slipping off, I have no idea why they wouldn't have just made it reversed threads so it can't back off, seems like something you think they woulda thought of. I'm putting red on it tonight and that should hold it in there.

The zyx-s unit was just a matter of little things here and there that I did wrong while learning how to set up my first fbl unit.

On a side note, I set up a kbar this past week on my blade 450, which uses mikado's software, and that thing was a DREAM to setup and flew mint the first flight. Now I need a bigger machine(hopefully by next summer) to put my silverline vbar in cuz these things are baddd azzzz and blow the zyx out of the water imo

Sell it and be done with i. Trex250's are pieces of BEEP! Had one they are a pita!

The bigger the heli, the easier to fly and maintain. Trex is a great brand just the 250 sucks..

If it wasn't for the fact that its something me and my dad can do together. Like I said, my plan was it was something that would bring us closer. So if it wasn't for that fact I prolly would sell.

Hopefully the main gear will be the final issue and I can enjoy it, I can already tell I like the way a 450 flys wayyyy better tho. Once I get the kinks out I can see it being shelved tho and mostly used in the indoor season.

Re: Trex 250 pro dfc build and discussion

hi Cory,

i got a t-rex 250 pro dfc coming, just wondering what happened to your mip 0.9mm and 1.3mm? did you use them to build the t-rex 250 or the align hex driver?

thanks
Allan

I used the MIP drivers for the most part, I did use the align one here and there.

The align one sinks into the head deeper but they MIP one is way nicer in your hand as the align one in dinky and the whole driver is probably only 3 inches long including the handle.

I think the 0.9mm is only used with the set screws too if I remember correctly.

IMHO.....For the nearly $20 each these drivers cost, if I did it over again, hobbyking has a 0.050"(1.27mm) driver and I would try that out first. I'm going to throw one in one of my orders down the road and try it out.
