Sig Wonder

Three of us out here are going to build Wonders this winter & we all have electric power in mind. I did a search on this site and on RC Groups - nothing! Are we pioneers here?

Re: Sig Wonder

Not sure what you're looking for, but this may be of some interest to you since going electric.

Re: Sig Wonder

Thanks all!

That was just what I was looking for Mike! Yes we are building them(wood, glue, covering etc.) and converting to electric.

Thanks for the warning Randy! We will definately go with smaller motors then as that isn't the out come we are looking for.

Re: Sig Wonder

There are 4 of us out on the Northern West coast that are planning on doing the same thing this winter. We have a very small field and are limited to 3 lbs and electric only. Are plan is to shrink the design by 20% and run a 180 watt motor on three cells (commonality with our combat planes). I will be drawing out the design on a CAD program and having the correct airfoil is my only missing piece. I have a built one to copy but do not have any plans, and would like to use the same airfoil. Does anybody have a rib that can be traced or photo copied. For construction we are going to build the fusalage as per original and lighten it up where possible. The wing will be hot wire cut foam with stranded packing tape for a spar and some sheeting in the middle.

Re: Sig Wonder

Here is my Sig Wonder (my 2nd).

This has a O.S. 15CV-A in the nose. I cut two bays out of the wing as the 15CV-A is a very light weight engine. I am using three of the new Spektrum 5030 servos. They are incredibly fast servos.

Actually I am building two one for me and one for my buddy to race and have FUN.

I am making sure the top and bottom are very different in color. LOL
