Latest Project

Hello, been away from flying rc for a bit and would like to show my latest project. Its a homemade 4 stroke engine. Its called the Puck and the plans are from the US. Bought the bearings, carb, springs and some bolts. Everything else was fabricated.

Its a flat head, twin cam, 0.27ci and spins the 9x5 prop 2000-9200 rpm on 5% nitro.

Re: Latest Project

Nice looking engine. I should match you up with one of my friends from Ontarioi here, who built his own 7 cylinder engine and uses it to fly his 1/5 scale Fairy Swordfish

Nice work!!

Re: Latest Project

Looks like some high quality machining and a very unique engine, great stuff! What are you planning to use it in?

Re: Latest Project

Awesome! I have always wanted to build my own engine. best I ever did was get half way through Steve Huck's CO2 V8. It looks like you have done a great job.
My new issue of Model engine builder magazine showed up yesterday so you never know... I might see your name in there

Re: Latest Project

Thanks for the complements. I dont have any construction pics but do have a box of partialy completed parts that didnt work out. Was thinking it would be a good fit for a 20 size cub. Too bad it seems like there are not many small kits anymore and most of the arfs are built light for low vibration electrics. May have to design a plane for it but have other projects ahead of that. Took about 1.5 months working full time on it everyday to build.

Thanks
Geoff
