Brian: I have spied that Starfighter on the Icare website. Now that I have achieved flight with my first EDF I am of course considering what will be next. If none of your travelling companions buy that one before you reach Ottawa Please speak to me and perhaps we can strike a deal. I look forward to seeing your many EDF's fly and probably getting into a windbag session with some of you more experienced electric jet pilots.
Best Regards

Nice snag on the L-39 Ken. The F-104 is a nice looking plane, Trevor had one. the twin looks interesting, Maybe I will find a composite 90mm Sabre there. Oh, I'm bringing the wife could be tricky picking up a new plane. I barely got the Sapac T-45 out of the box, It wont make it on the 29th.

NP Bob. I picked it up from I-care. There is a slight problem with the vert fin, it has a bend in it. I-care checked their stock and they all had a slight bend. I had a HET sniper with the same problem. The tech rep said if you heated up the base of the fin with a heat gun, you can straighten it, when it gets soft, and let it cool. Seems like in their production, the fuse is laid down on its side and the fin droops a bit before fully cured. Trying to churn out as many as possible in a production run and not taking their time. You can have a good look at it before deciding.

Dave, you can throw a new plane in the back of my truck. Trevor can distract your wife, in NewMarket, while you slip it into the house. I'm baaaddd!!
Brian.

Re: First EDF only Jets Event in Canada

I might be down to one jet for the event... I was out today flying my Habu and L39...

I was going downwind, too slow and horsed the L39 around a turn too tightly before coming back on the power, it snapped and spun in as I was pretty low.

Managed to pancake it - but one stab and one wig are damaged. I might get to repair it for next weekend and get it test flown before, but if not the Habu wont fly again until the event

I know I jinxed myself with my earlier post, lol

AJC

edit: plane wasnt as bad as it looked... fixed the wing, fixed the stab and just need to retouch the paint on the fuse and she's good to go!

Re: First EDF only Jets Event in Canada

Psst! That good snag on the L39 was on the QT!!! Ok I did tell my wife yesterday I likely would be comming home with a new project! - Actually Deborah was happy I was so honest with her. So you might see "make me an offer" sign on my table at the event. We got a one in - one out rule. This way the size of the fleet stays the same.

On the other side of the event - I did pick up a package yesterday to find Martin Rousseau of MR Aerodesign "Laser cutting Service" had donated two " Park-it-Stands ". Thanks Martin!!!!!!

Re: First EDF only Jets Event in Canada

Ken, are you or your club making any T-shirts for the event? I would buy one, perhaps two. I would wear one out for sure
