Looks great Trev!
Nice call putting the canopy/hatch on before pumping in the smoke! Not sure I would have had that forethought!

Well... It was only when I looked down and saw my oily shoe that I decided to put the canopy on... So not much forethought, LOL

Yep.. After probably 20 gassers and close to 10 turbines and never one complaint... They actually are quite intrigued. Usually lots stop with the same questions - how fast, how high, what's the range, do they crash, ever had one catch on fire, etc

Awesome Trev.

Love all those stats the JEtcat ECU feeds ya. I have the old style Wren Fadec so not nearly the data. If I keep this turbine, I will likely upgrade to the new ECU with Kero start then u can get the interface from the ECU to the futaba telemetry.

So did your clothes stink after you were done running it. I didn't even run the smoke and I smelled pretty bad. Wife kicked me out as soon as I walked in.

You may have to bring up the rpm that the smoke will come on. You should be burning more of the oil IMO.

Absolutely Dave... No bugs here

Paul... Totally agree about the smoke activation... I just set the mix up --- it is dialed back to 50% of the flow during the test and it comes on above 1/2 throttle now, so I doubt I'll choke it out!!

Re: Another CompARF Tucano / JetCat SPT5

Pretty sure it's on a switch and mixed so that it only activates when throttle is above set limit so it doesn't choke out 😎

Re: Another CompARF Tucano / JetCat SPT5

Hi Trev
The SPT5 has a lot of push to it when you get her wound up. I was bench running mine last year and testing a few wood props as I am scared of prop strike on that gear box. Anyways I had a Zoar 28x10 laminated on it and I had my 18MZ on the run up bench as well behind the motor as were we. When up to full throttle on that prop it was pushing the TX across the table, with prop blast. With that combination I thought that it was too much for that. So I had another prop a 28x10 Scorape and it was easier for it to turn. I think it turned around 6500. And yes Paul if you stand long enough behind these turbo props it will pollute anything you are wearing. And I didn't even have a smoke system there. Anyways good luck with your maiden. Mine will probably get done on the Raven when I get back from Kevin's place in Surrey after Father's Day.
