Anyone see the NOVA show about the aviation pioneer Bleriot?

I missed the first 10mins but really enjoyed it anyway.
Bleriot's grandson built a replica Bleriot XI and wanted to recreate his grandfather's crossing of the English Channel. Until he crashed into a pond after takeoff.

Here is a link to the Nova site about the show.

enjoy

Chris

Should be rebroadcasted, check with the PBS site

Seen NOva

The plane was a b11 model and original actually built by his uncle. This plane had two atempts at crossing the channel first by a women pilot resulting in a crash on the way to England and by the nephew crashing in a pond in France he did not use rudder in a turn and it went into a flat turning stall and crashed.

Yes, I caught the last 1/2 hour of it. Did you see the next show about the great flying boats that Pan Am and Imperial Airways used to open up the trans Atlantic flights? That was quite interesting too.

Saw the flying boat show and couldn't stop thinking of how Howard Hughs's TWA was treated by Pan-Am's owner (Juan something).... If you haven't seen "The Aviator".. It was good movie for us airplane buffs... I learned a little bit more....
A funny thing happened at work yesterday... ( I read electric meters for BC Hydro ).. Normally we take a boat of to read a meter on one of the lighthouse islands... A co-worker couldn't hire one of the regular boat taxis so he called the Coast Guard.. They told him to come to the heli-pad at such -and such a time... So he got to take one of the BO-105cb heli's over, 1/2 hour round trip.... lucky guy....

Missed 10mins of the show and didn't hear that little factoid.
They sure did a nice job of reconditioning the Bleriot.
