Just though you might enjoy a full scale example of what we fondly refer to as a "scale landing".

Hi Guys ,

Funny but almost certainly a clever fake ! The physics are all wrong. I know from experience how large transport aircraft respond to slamming onto the ground !
The sudden pitch up before touchdown would have resulted in a balloon . The rate of descent was normal before touchdown . Normally if an airplane hits hard , it will bounce but the nose will never bob up and down like that. Even if it was bobbing the frequency of the pitching was way too high . Big airplanes have a fair bit of inertia. The skidding noises are kind of cheesy as well ! I also noticed that the ground spoilers didn't come up with wheel spin up . Funny but fake !

FWIW, I sent this thread to a friend at Bombardier for his take on it . Here's what he has to say :

You are right. There is no way that an airplane of that size can bounce that violently and stay together. Those
accelerations would be enough to destroy the fuselage. When we are building RJs, they have to put lead weights on
the engine pylons until the engines are mounted in order to protect the nose gear from being overloaded. They are
that fragile. This is an aluminum tube and it is designed to fly, not crash.

Have you seen the famous DC-9 performance landing where they rip the aft fuselage off? Ain't no bouncin' going on
there, except for the aft fuse (and tail) tumbling down the runway. As for how to fake it? I saw Starwars on Sat.
They can do anything these days.

Marc,
I am no expert on large ac but after viewing it about a dozen times I was trying to get the markings. Maybe somebody else can but it looks very fuzzy which would not be right. Also I agree with you with the size and that much weight I think on the first bounce the gear would be up a stewadess's butt.
