I'm considering a conversion from brushed to brushless and am looking for suggestions on motor and esc's on a 1/10 scale buggy.

Thanks

Re: brushless motor suggestion

the castle creation sv3 is the best bang for your buck.
(109.99$)
I am running a 5700kv motor in all my buggies
it's a great all around motor.

Re: brushless motor suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion. Is there a way to limit the full speed until my son has grasped the ability of handling his buggy and then unrestricting it? For a buggy what is a happy middle kv rating ?

Re: brushless motor suggestion

I put the sidewinder sv2 3800kv sct system in my nephew's evader last year and it's lots fast imo (40mph)

do yourself a favor and get the castle field program card and you can program the esc to your needs, you can adjust the punch and total power output to slow it down untill your son gets used to it.

Re: brushless motor suggestion

Motor, ESC, USB programming cable.

HobbyKing says $70 in my cart, $80 to-my-door in Toronto. Here's the URC thread to read up on the features of the ESC. I'm using that combo but with a higher-turn motor (3700kv/10.5t) in my 22. If you're just bashing I suggested a motor with a tiny bit more kick.
