Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

I'm setting up flaps I built into Rare Bear and have them on servo slow and that brings up another small problem I had last season.

With the very long gear struts and position there would be a noticeable trim change with them extended or tucked into the wings. I set up an elevator trim mix to compensate, but it acts immediately so I have to hold the stick a bit till the gear reaches the position the trim is set for.

Annoying more than anything.

I will most likely be requiring another elevator mix to compensate for flaps and with those on slow again ran into the fact the slave channel, (elevator) reacts immediately regardless of the speed ratio programmed into the master.

Does anyone know how to link these functions where the slave follows the master output directly?

NOTE: Due to the flap servo installation one has to run in reverse direction. Easiest would be to tie in a second Rx channel. I tried experimenting with a spare Rx and some servos and nearly pulled what hair I had left out by the time I gave up. That second channel could be programmed, but end points and even speed would be locked out, (meaning they were missing from the screen) or locked in, where I could not access the channel displayed in the programming menu. This second channel also seemed to lock to the primary flap function, ( flight mode switch) rather than the LH lever set up for the master flap channel.

Finally opted to play around with some servos to find two that had the same travel limits and reversed one, (for some reason one of the first pair ended up with less travel when flipped this way). Unfortunately it also means I have to mechanically rig end points on this second channel to prevent binding.

Is there some way you could use slow transition into Flight Modes to make everything happen at the slow speed?

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

From what I see Flight Modes presets several options, (control and trim positions, as well as different expos, etc.). However, don't believe you can program servo slow to work for anything but individual channels.

I'm trying to tie the servo speed setting from one channel to another via the mix function.

Will delve into the manual again. Just cannot remember anything regarding this.

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

A bit of an update: I was able to mix in a second channel to the flap lever. However, for some reason even with both set to 100% either direction the AUX 2 channel has far less travel. Very strange.

Are you using the Flap System menu to set up your flaps and elevator compensation? In there, there is a delay that works on both the flaps and elevator.

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

That looks to only work if the flap switch is active. I'm using the LH lever.

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

Can you change the flap switch to the switch of your choice?

(I don't own this TX, but I do have a 12x...)

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

That's what I did to move it to the lever. When doing that you have to eliminate the switch from interfering with that function. And it can really much things up since each position can change all the characteristics of what happens when the flaps are deployed, including elevator mix and trims.

Just to note, this is the 72MHz version, originally purchased to allow for module changes to 2.4 when I wanted.

Re: Mixing JR 9303 Servo Slow?

Ah... I've never used a lever (slider) for flaps. Always used a three position switch, then last year started using flight modes.

Hope you get it figured out!

Cougar
Is a JR Matchbox a possible solution to your problem. As I recall they allow you to control servo direction, travel, endpoint and centering on up to 4 servos off of ONE channel on your Tx. Seem to recall that it was designed to address situations like yours. Just a thought.
