Maybe it is alright in the club scene were the idea is to get as many people to race as possible. But at a race of this caliber you can’t possibly put up nitro vs. electric. Electric motors take away all of the variables of tuning a nitro motor. Any nitro racer knows that tuning is half the battle. In my opinion giving electric vehicles mandatory pit stops still doesn’t bring them to the same playing field. If electrics are going to be raced keep them in a separate class where they belong.

I'll second Derek's 2 cents on this issue!

Even I can admit that my nitro tuning isn't totally 'up to snuff' but it's NOT fair of me (or anyone else) to rally for electric because I can't keep my engines running.

I LOVE nitro and fully intend to learn the ropes regarding engine tuning. Hey, the "BIG GUYS" don't flame out and seem to run one hour A mains without engine failure, so why can't I? Experience!!!

Although electric is growing in popularity, there is NO replacing 1/8 nitro as the hobbies 'formula one' of racing. Some things are sacred, and the Winter Nationals should remain steadfast on there decision to respect that!

Lets start respecting the reeeeeeason we even got into 1/8 scale to begin with guys!!!
