Re: How to power my raptor? (rx battery)
my point was and still is don't risk a brand new heli if you are having problems with electronics after it had been crashed ,oh by the way I am a electronic tech and p\c tech so what would I know anyways,I just couldn't afford a new heli at the expense of a defective reciever or battery,it wasn't a pitch to throw good equipment in the garbage but insurance to still have that new heli to fly.

Re: How to power my raptor? (rx battery)
Please don't turn this into a bashing session! I asked for some info and opinions on setup. Thats what I got. I am a smart enough guy to sort through everything and determine which is the best method for me.
That being said this afternoon I ordered up: http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...d_id=FLP21702S http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...d_id=FLPFT8AVR http://www.greathobbies.com/producti...od_id=HIT23972

Re: How to power my raptor? (rx battery)
Norm,
The input voltage on that reg that you have coming is only up to 6v. That battery is great but it will charge to over 8v. The output on that reg is great but means nothing because it cant handle that batteries voltage. Change your order and get http://www.greathobbies.com/producti..._id=AGNK10382A This reg comes with the voltage step down for the tail too if you choose to run high speed digital tail servos. Keep the battery. Good luck with the 3D flying cheers kevin

Re: How to power my raptor? (rx battery)
After ordering my flight power lipo. I noticed the balance lead doesn't look like the normal one I use on my hong kong zippy cells. Is there some kind of adapter needed? I believe my charger is setup for the jst/align balance plug type lead.

Oh by the way I am an electronics tech as well and I also have a BBA......so what would I know? I know enough to not go onto a public forum and try and make people think that I know more than I know.

Re: How to power my raptor? (rx battery)
Norm,
If you ordered the 3 items you should do okay. I think there is a typo on the regulator as they have it as adjustable 5 to 6 volts on the input. That should read 5 to 6 volts on the output. I have yet to see an adjustment on the input side of a voltage regulator. I am not an expert by any means but do a lot of tinkering with electronics. I don't know why it seems to always get into bashing each other when Norm asked a simple question. Something is wrong with this senario. Hope you have your info Norm. Take care, John

If you like, PM me a picture of the plugs and I'll suggest a solution for you.
