Looking for ethylen 2chloride (dichlorethane) or substitute

Hi.

I am trying to glue Plexiglass sheets, polistirole (not foam) etc. I use to use those substances long time ago and it was just excellent. Dichlorethane literally dissolves plastic and makes very strong bond.
Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. Is there any source, selling that or equal substitute?

Thanks.

Must be good stuff:

or try your local sign shop.

Go to any plastic supply company and they can set you up with acrylic solvent adhesives.

Come to think of it, Rona and Home despot carries plexiglass sheets and I remember there being an adhesive. I am not sure if it is the super wicking type or the gel. Depends on what you are doing.

I use either methylene chloride or MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) depending on the plastic.
Both are available at http://www.ippnet.com/ here in the West..might want to check a plastics supplier in your local area.

Also, when we were kids..we used to get methylene chloride from neon sign manufacturing shops.

G'luck!
