ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
I have a ZDZ80 in my Ziroli Hellcat. It has always run well, but recently its' giving me problems. When i throttle up it just stops. It does not matter where i set the low speed needle valve. I have tried needle settings all the way from 3/4 of a turn to 2 turns open. I cleaned the carb screen, and tried fresh gas but rarely can i get it to full throttle. Any ideas?
Thanks. |

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
Debri behind the high speed needle.
If you extract the needle flush, both positive, and negitive preasure with a fluid (gas) this may flush it out. Next would be a carb apart, same or ultrasonic cleaning. My Sulivan fuel bulb works great at this. (Pet Peeve, is no one else buys one, but sure runs over to borrow mine at the fun-flies!) Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
I imagine it is still the older Bing Carb.
If it is a ZDZ 80 RV-J, then it would have a Walbro on it. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
I had a similar problem recently.
First fix was a replacement Walbro carb but Mr. Hunter asked for it back Second and final was a new diaphragm from the local chainsaw store Nick |

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
I put a Walbro WJ71 on it a couple years ago. I have a few things to try now. Thanks.

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
Andris, if you have not put a carb kit in it yet. Try the saw/sled shop (the old little 2 man shop) They can supply them for about $15 ($13 here).
Then go to no Ethinol fuel. All our locals have, with great results (longevity, on diaphrams). Hope this helps, WJ71 is a great carb. -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
After two other rebuilt carbs and an RCecell ignition, now wont even start. I have traced it back to the fact that the engine is not drawing fuel. Wonder what could stop the carb/engine from drawing fuel?

Re: ZDZ80 Won't Throttle Up
This get's real easy now.
Your pulse port is obstructed. Check from the block, up/out that the gaskets, block etc. are not rotated, or assembled wrong. Ussually a simptom after a person has had a carb off such as after a rebuild. Did all these symptoms start after a carb removal, or rotation? Hope this helps. Or I could be totally out in left field! -Dale- 100% free webcam site! | Awesome chicks and it is absolutely free! | Watch free live sex cam - easy as 1-2-3
