124" Carden PRO - Extra 300 Special / DA200 - BBT

I'm totally thrilled for Jack Marcotte

Last night Jack showed up at my door with a whole bunch of surprises - a beautiful 124" PRO Special Kit and a DA200QUAD

This set-up is going to have all the bells and whistles from the DA200 / MTW Cans to AirMan Wheels, Graphtech G2 CF LG, Custom Airbrushed paint job, etc, etc.

The plan is to build it relatively stock, with perhaps a bit of cutty-cutty on the motorbox to offset some of the DA200 pork.

I've also been given the green-light to do full CF inside the fuse like I did on my 43% Edge

I hope to start the motorbox tonight

Re: 124" Carden PRO - Carbon Fiber Edition / DA200 - BBT

Should be a fun project!!!

We were looking at the wing-cores last night - - this is an ultra-thin, low-drag plane!!!
.
.
.
Because of that, and the grunt fromt the DA200, we're not going to lighten it much and both the wings and fuse are going to get the full CF treatment to make it ultra-stiff!!!!!

We've going to do twin 750ML bottles for fuel - one bottle to each carb!!

No smoke!!

Man oh man, did you get any sleep last night? Thanks for taking this build Trevor. I'm really looking foward watching you do your magic again.

I had a good look at Trevor's Carden edge last night and boy it's a nice toy. The details including the Carbon work is awesome.

We've found that the big Quads don't consume much and are infact better on fuel than the piped twins (ie DA150 / DA170) because they aren't working very hard!! Even my piped ZDZ180 (which doesn't work hard) is not as good on fuel as the Quads!!

Our data points are Jack's Mintor220 / 126" E300 Carden (high drag) and my 3W220CS / 58% Pitts (like pulling around a garage door!!!).... both consume about 1 1/4L of fuel in a 12+ minute flight.

With this plane being so slippery, 1.5L will give 15+ minutes!!!
