Was curious and inquired. Good to go here. No exclusion.

An extra charge is added to my policy.

It cover fire, theft and transit damage. ex involvement in a traffic accident.

It does not cover damage while I am using it (Crash and Hangar Rash).
Our Home insurance also required a rider/floater to cover My model Airplane hobby exactly as You describe but including a traffic accident with My Models on board. Working with My Broker and Underwriter I created a document with photos and a list and searchable price for all components of each Model I am insuring, with a recommended by My Underwriter a price line addition of 10% for each Model to cover "shop materials & incidentals" was added. Both My broker and Underwriter gave Me feedback and and acceptance for each Model submitted to them. Part way through the process they advised Me to also document for them all My tools and parts in shop.
It was a quiet time of the season and I was recovering from bone fixing so it was an enjoyable and very interesting exercise exposing to Myself just what I have into this hobby. Both Broker and Underwriter welcomed an incite into just how involved this hobby is with the Underwriter communicating to Me enough interest that He is seeking a Model Airplane club in His community.

Bottom line is I update My inventory with them when required and this file is with the underwriter if ever We should change Brokers.

Oh ya, Our rider/floater is $60.00 for $32,000.00 full value, over and above our home contents and the additional rider/floater detached shop coverage with all the automotive tooling and parts inventory.

Bought insurance all My life, never made a claim and hope to never have to. Sleeping sound is worth every penny.

Re: Your Home Owners Insurance Policy and Your Models

I see one say 60, is that per year? It costs me about 700 per year for the rider on my wife's engagement ring is why I ask.

Just tried to look up Travellers, can't find anything related to exclusions so I best ask AGAIN as I have nothing in writing.

Please post the company you deal with in your findings, thank you.

We are insured with Sovereign through our local broker of 37 Years now.
Yes the 60 is annual, with 2014 being the first year We have this rider/floater We hope it remains a constant.

I get my insurance through Peace Hills. Just had thus discussion last fall as there was a misunderstanding over what I was asking about. After I provided a comprehensive list of what I have and the replacement value, they wrote back with "oh, that's recreational and covered fully under contents while stored at your insured property". No rider.

Re: Your Home Owners Insurance Policy and Your Models

The way most policy's are written today you'll need a Lawyer to understand it. My Sister's house burned down years ago and she was shocked when the insurance company put a trailer on her property for her to live in while the house was being rebuilt. The way the policy was written gives the insurance company the discretion on your living arrangements to what they see as fit. Don't believe what your told by a insurance rep, he or she will tell you what you want to here. Cheers Floyd
