I've been through the limited amount of literature.

Does it have Voice alerts? Voice telemetry?
I can find no mention of them, I can't believe it wouldn't but, you would think that would be a prominent feature that they would mention.

If it has Voice capability, is it pre-recorded or can you create your own?

Also, is the telemetry/ flight data recorded somewhere and how do you review or play it back? Does JR have a software that this is done in?

I did notice a trainer port on the back, can we assume that there is no wireless trainer option?

This is what I mean when I say that there is virtually no info available about this Tx and purchase is a complete leap of faith in JR.

Re: JR is shipping the 28X!

Mike,

There has been plenty of info posted over the last 10 months but the official literature will be going out next week. As for a leap of faith there's plenty of other systems whose new releases were a bit unknown. You threads about weatronic come to mind.

In al seriousness tho Jr will not be able to fill all the back orders until past April. There are literally 1000s of radios spoken for. The demand is enormous. So getting the radio completed was the first priority.

Chad, we had xbus for some time now. It's to bad you won't be able to use an android radio and are stuck with windows. I wonder how android vs windows phones are doing????

all in fun.

True about the Weatronic Tx but, when it was released, it was a disappointment to me so, I cancelled my pre-order.

EDIT: I FOUND INFO ON HH'S SITE THAT IT DOES HAVE VOICE AND TELEMETRY DATA STORAGE

I'm sure I'll get my hands on it at Toledo, If there's not too much of a line!

G.H. listing for the 28XI at $3459. Nuts! We are flying toy airplanes not the flipping Space Shuttle.

Technically we all only need 4 wheels and an engine but lots of people buy cars that are faster then required. $3500 bucks for a flagship JR radio seems to be ok as they are pre-ordered and sold in then 1000s. The first container is already all sold and shipping this week.

Just because people don't need all the features doesn't mean people don't want them.

ALso FYI

The radio comes with Case, Radio, 2 Recievers, and when you register they send you a jacket!

Some very cool features.

As mentioned before the stick switches are a first from a radio in the locations. For me they will be used for rates so you never have to take your hands off the sticks. Could also be used for flaps, gear etc.

5-20 Stick Accelerator (can change program depending on stick speed, could set rates for a snap roll and when you flick the sticks to the corners it knows your entering a snap or you could have a sudden increase in elevator travel when doing a wall)

The gimbals and stick resolution is unreal. Also the 3axis gyro integration for helis and planes looks great. I cannot wait to test this out. Being able to adjust all the gyro parameters directly from the radio in all 3 axis during flight will be nice. You also could incorporate the stick accelator that iff you suddenly move a stick it can turn off or on the gyro.

My big worry was this radio would be the same as all the others just with more channels but there are some new programming things that will make a real difference in my flying.
