What size were you looking for?

You could try and find a Royal Kit. They had a P-38 but all of their kits are out of production however several of their kits ussually appear at swap meets.

Or maybe post and ask if anyone has a set of their plans then get a kit cutter to do what they do.

I did a quick search and found a set of plans on ebay for a
Quote:
Super nice plans with article (7 pages) by the great Col. Art Johnson. 94" wing span. 62" Length. 2 large sheets. Power 2 .60s. Weight 13 lbs and up.....Plans also show big drop tank. .... This plane can be custom cut for you using a laser cutting machine by: "Tank's Hangar Aircraft Modeling" at ktank@tanks-hangar.com ......... P-38 short kits are now available from Tank's for $110 plus shipping
Here is a link to the auction:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=19164

I have bought numerous plans from this vendor, Uncle-Willies and when I was in Florida in the spring dropped by his operation to pick some up. All I can say is WOW! He has quite a collection. Many of th plans he sells have been restored by him. When I was there he had three drafting tables setup where he was retracing some older in rough shape plans of some pretty interesting subjects.

He is a R/C Scale modeler as well as was evident by the extensive stable of aircraft he had in his workshop.

I wouldn't wait too long though as there are only 4 hours left in the auction. Not to worry though if you miss the auction he has an ebay store and if that fails just email him and ask him to put another set of the plans up for auction or he may quote you a special buy it now price without listing it for auction.

Good luck,

Here are some pics of the plans to motivate you!

thanx for the info guys I would love to scratch build a plane but I think being it would be my first try it would be best for a less complicated plane to build that and the fact I dont have a credit card makes bills a little safer I was looking for more of a kit to start with .60 or bigger but not so big that it wont fit in my golf

Whats wrong with this one then?

Ok so what is wrong with the Wing MFG short kit I listed above?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=19164

Quote:
The box says it’s a 70” span, 8 pound plane designed for .40 to .60 size engines. This Short Kit includes detailed plans and instructions, foam wing cores, canopies, engine cowls, and other molded miscellaneous parts. Also a list of balsa wood and other hardware needed to complete the model.
Again you could get the balsa parts cut by a kit cutter!

FYI: you can pay by more then just credit card on ebay. You are paying the seller NOT ebay. The guy selling this has listed Money Order or Cashiers Check as alternate methods to pay.

From your posts this looks like the size you are looking for!

If you were looking for something smaller then the plan listed here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...category=19164 is going for only $1.00! Again look at kit cutters if you don't want to do all the cutting of formers and ribs. This one says it's for two .10s so stick to .15s in it and you are off to the races.

Bye the way NONE of these are my auctions!
