I am interested in getting into indoor electric flight but am not sure where to start. I was thinking about one of the greatplanes "flatouts" but was told that they have a bad reputation of being very fragile. Any advice would be helpful.

What size facility do you have available to you? That is the usual determinate to what you can fly, either indoors or out. I fly my J3 Stick outdoors, but it could easily fly in a LARGE indoor facility, but not a double gym.

Are you attempting this yourself, or do you have a group you are with? If there is a group, is there one with experience?

Recommending a model is dependent on these factors!

The Ikarus small shockies work very well. Superstar, etc.

GWS slow stick is great for indoors. A double gym is fine. They can fly so slow it is easy to control. We have found the "blue core" planes the most durable and fly very well indoors when doing aerobatics.

I will be flying in an indoor double gym. There is a group of us but it is the first year for everyone. I was also hoping for something that was 3D capable.

I'd go with the 32 if you're just starting out in 3D - it has gentler flying characteristics. These planes are made out of EPP foam, so you'd have to work really hard and harming them (motor excluded from this

) - EPP bounces, meaning you will be Dirk Daring in no time - and giggling like mad when you crash. The komodo KH257 motor is a great match for these planes - Steve has these too. Tell Steve that arx_n_sparx sent ya.

For indoor 3d capable try www.fancyfoam.com he has some 5 to 6 oz models available

I haven't flown the indoor versions but have had theYak and Edge with a spare Yak and an Extra on the shelf

These have been the most durable foamies I have owned maybe don.t fly as precise as a charger rc but they take a lot more abuse

They are available as a complete combo just tell him what type rx and channel usually 7 -10 days shipping

Don Bright of Brightside Hobbies carries some of his models in stock
