Been working on a fixture to hold a Palm Router on my CNC mill. Here are some pictures of the setup with the router putting holes in the vacuum table.

Re: CNC Router

Well the test went well cut a Selig S1223 rib 20 inches long with lightening holes. I used a 1/4 inch down spiral cutter that forces the work back on the table. The only thing holding the 3/32 sheet of balsa is the vacuum provided by a standard shop vac. I used paper to cover the holes not being used. This gives the greatest holding power.

The picture is the finished product. I am expecting some 1/16th bits shortly which will allow easily cutting smaller spar slots.

Re: CNC Router

I watched the video ok on RC Canada, Dennis. Looks very nice! I'll have to see if I can get my son to do something similar with his mill.

Re: CNC Router

Dennis,
Looks like a good solid mount. I have a question on your bits. Where do you purchase them? It would also make it a lot easier for me.
Thanks, John

I purchase them on the internet where ever they are available. The carbide ones run about 16 bucks US.

Re: CNC Router

Well I have been cranking up the speed with the 1/16 tool bits and I'm at 50 inches per min. This video shows puting in the relief in the spar slots and a cut in the building tabs for easy break off. This cuts the airfoil. spar slot and removable building tabs.
