Finally, the gain is perfect, the tail doesn't move (wag) at all.
At 70% gain. Now I can sort of concentrate learning to fly, per say.
I can hold it in my steady drive-way and breath, without wetting myself
at the same time. With the heli nicely tuned its a bit easier to predict.
Thanks for the tip CDallas2, I'll certainly take a close look at these lessons.

Having a well tuned heli will help immensely in the flyability of the machine.
I tried flying once with blades out of track ( ah, how much would it matter, I thought), the vibration caused it to shake and tail kept kicking back and forth, almost to the point of
disaster. Once the blades were reset, it made a huge difference, stability increased, stress level decreased, it became a much more enjoyable experience.
No doubt a lot of beginners give up on the hobby, thinking that it is just too hard and
not worth the effort, when all they need is a bit of bench time making sure everything is set up and balanced properly. All the more reason why some good flying buddies make the hobby so much more enjoyable.

It's also surprising how fast things go out of wack too. The heli I stripped gears on had a bent mainshaft. I never knew this I replaced the stripped gears only and tried it. What I did see was much more vibration but not enough to really impair it's flyability so I wrote it off as unbalanced blades.
