I think the B-29's crew would tend to agree with you, they bailed!

I would assume so. I don't have any sound so I can't get any commentary (if there is any). I don't know much about model rockets or how big their engines get, but the X1 was definately not lacking in power!

Yup!

I have seen this fly in person.

The owner/builder/pilot is Mac Hodges of Hodges Hobbies in Georgia.

Mac is a farmer that just happens to have an 1800 sq ft hobby shop on his property beside an 1500' x 300' grass strip for his full scale Cub and the members of his club.




His farm/fielld/store is a 3 hour drive, one way, south west of Atlanta. I know I have done it several times.

The first time I was there was on a Sunday and they were just winding down a week long Memorial Fly-in. It was Giant Scale heaven. When he pulledout the B-29... WOW!

YES this is a B-29 in a Hover!











How is this for a Sun Shelter and check out the weather vane!
