Anyone have experience with the new generation Magnum 61 engines? A fella on RCU is saying they are a nice chromed sleeve true ABC engine etc etc
Just want any feedback good or bad

I hear you Dave lol
Still trying to get this twin done! I may have to put these MVVS 49's on the test stand ! All this wind we're having is making me ride which is taking away from my build time
I guess given all the replies no one is running the Magnum?

Sorry I cant add much 1st hand experience... but from what I have heard of others, they are a decent engine - as good as any of the other competitive brands. I would certainly give them a try. I had an older Magnum 40 that ran pretty well untill we ran some dirt through it

Is there much of a price difference VS say an OS, or Thunder Tigre?

Hi Andrew,
I have not priced out an MVVS .61 yet but certainly cheaper than the rest. I'm just curious is all. My wife is hooked on flying now so I'm thinking a Protege might be my winter project

Yeah, the weather has been a bit "variable" hasn't it?

I went out to the field Monday night anyway. With crow on, pointed into the wind, I was flying backwards with my Ultra Stick! There were a few calm interludes though.

In an attempt to find out what the fuel economy was like on the gasser, I flew 2 - 15 minute flights on the same 16oz tank of gas - and the engine was still running when I landed after the second one!

Can't feel too sorry for you if the wind is making you put some time on your bike though, I put about 500K on mine from when we saw you to Monday morning.
