Ok so I just bought anew (used )radio for my daughter's plane Thanks Kevin. My question is ,it is a JR radio and I will probably be using Hitec receivers for it. Now do I need JR crystals or would Futaba work???Thanks in advance Mike

Xtals

Hi Mike:

You'll need Hi-tec xtals for the hitec receiver to match the transmitter channel. Just make sure you get positive shift or shift selectable receivers.

As Dennis says, the Hitec receiver will work just fine but you need Hitec crystals for it. JR and Futaba crystals will NOT work! Must be Hitec!

If your receiver is the newer Supreme IIS ( the one with the little green diode on the face) then it is auto shift select and will also work fine with the JR Tx. No jumpers or anything like that to worry about, the RX will detect what shift the signal is and select it automatically.

The older Supremes were made specifically for either Hitec/Futaba (negative shift) or JR/Airtronics (positive shift) and is indicated on the face plate of the Receiver.
