7 minutes. I own a large plot of land (100 acres approx) that is pretty much all open field with a few trees at the far ends of the field. It is MAAC approved with about 10 active members.

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

Just over 4 miles (7km) & takes about 7 minutes from my house to our MAAC field. Have been lucky after moving to where I am in 1985, that it was closer to the field.

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

When I was learning I drove almost an hour and fifteen minutes and sometimes no Instructor was at the field to aid us beginners.

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

Let's see. I was at the field and went home to pick up (not forgotten item) something, said hi to my wife petted the dog, had a few sips of pop, loaded the item and returned to the field in 14 minutes total!

Thumbs up Re: How far do you travel to fly?

Thanks Brothers, this is aiding my decision. 40 minutes to get to the most active and larger field, might be the one.

As for you lucky pilots to go across the road or out the back door. This may be an option next year as we are looking more in the country from where we are now .

Thanks again everyone

Scott

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

Driveway to parking lot, about 22 km (25 minutes). It's a nice drive.

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

20-30min depending on traffic and it is a very active club. Next nearest field is 1.5 hours away.

Re: How far do you travel to fly?

About 10 minutes west to the closest club, although I really only fly there for IMAC contests and fun-flies because I'm not a member there. About 15 minutes north to the closest club I'm a member of. About 30 minutes east to the third club that I'm also not a member of yet but have flown there for IMAC. About 45 minutes west to my favorite club field, Arnprior. I most often go there if I'm going for the whole day.

2 minutes to my local soccer field if I'm flying my foamy.
