ZDZ 80 throttle linkage set-up help?

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
My "new-to-me" ZDZ 80 has arrived and I'm wanting to try it out. My other 80 is set up with the supplied swivel ball on the carb. The new one didn't come with the ball linkage set-up.

What are others doing for the carb throttle hook-up?

Thanks,

Peter

linkage

I am going to use a nylon nose wheel steering linkage arm, it can be turned any angle you want and is secured with a set screw.

great idea. I should have thought of that...

Will the collar be big enough to get over the shaft?

If your ZDZ was ordered new it should have come with a goody bag that includes several ball joints and snap on plastic keepers.
If you go the steering arm route just drill out the metal insert to the dia of the carb shaft,or sleeve it with the right size of brass tube to fit........
The plastic keepers that come from the factory look pretty fragile but I have some in use and havent had one come off yet.......

Thanks Kevin,

My "new-to-me" meant that it is a used engine. No ball links.

I'll go the steering arm route.

Thanks guys!
