Just getting in to RC and Multi Rotor and need some help
Hello,
I'm just starting in to the hobby of radio control heli. I've always had the interest and have had a few low end "toy" RC helis over the years. I'm now ready to put some time and money in to it. I am drawn to multi rotor and aerial photography (hobby not profesional). I'm looking to get a platform that will last me through the years, one that is of course upgradeable, stable and versatile. Obviously the start of a RC is a Tx. I'm looking for advise on a Tx that is a good entry level but advance enough that down the road i will not need to upgrade. Can anyone offer an suggestions on brands and models? Thanks Nick in Oshawa |

Re: Just getting in to RC and Multi Rotor and need some help
Oh so many to choose from. You will want one with enough channels to cover the extras you may want to install on the multrotor. I'd suggest a minimum of a 8 channels. The latest and greatest is to be argued. JR makes nice radios. Spektrum is run of the mill but work very well and are hugely popular. Then there is Futaba blah! just kidding. They are another great and very popular brand.
First decide how many channels you need then ask a multirotor photo guy. Then weigh the options of $$$ and actual need. There's my two cents, next!

JR has a new DMSS technology. New technology apparently so it's not interrupted. The newest tech from them. Spektrum must have it soon as well.

The DX9 is a really nice radio. The voice telemetry is a big plus. Helpful so you don't have to look down to see why the radio is beeping. (Hope I had it on my DX18..)
As far as multirotors goes, feel free to PM me, i'll help you out!

Re: Just getting in to RC and Multi Rotor and need some help
+1 for the DX9 and voice alerts.
This is very handy when you cant afford to take your eyes off your plane (heli, quad) for even a second. Ditto for FPV Multirotor flying and you are wearing goggles , having voice prompts would be really handy.
