Bristol Scout

Hey everyone!

Here's my latest build. I wanted to build a WW1 fighter that was as simple a design as possible to attract as many potential pilots as I could. Dave Plank suggested a Scout because of the simple fuse, identical upper and lower wings, and simple cabane set up, so here it is.

scale 1/8
weight 3lbs 12oz
wing loading 16oz/sq.ft.
wingspan 37"
power OS .25fp
material 4mm coroplast 2mm coroplast foam turtle deck

Construction photos will soon follow.

Heavier? More aerodynamic? Dan will catch you in by diving. This should be fun to watch. - Eric

When ever I see pics of your coro "combat" planes I can't help but think it looks too nice to bang it up in a combat sortie. Really nice work.

Hi Buzz when are the construction photos arriving I am interested in getting in to WW1 combat as it seems my only way, will be to build one, as I do not see any for sale.
I am more interested in sizing (plans) and attachment of cabanes, gluing is the easy bit.

Hi Alan,

WW1 "Bloody April" will be at the Humber Valley field Apr. 29

I think everyone is figuring out the latest/greatest. (we all learn each time)

2-3 wings, cabanes, 4ch, and landing gear... It's a challenge, and alot of fun to fly.

Makes the WW2 Combat easier...

Come join us for the most fun you can have with a model airplane.

Ask questions. We all wonder why it's so much fun!

Take care,
Have fun,
