Atsushi Hara's D8 Check it out....

http://www.hotbodiesonline.com/kit.p...=68175&lang=en

It looks just like a D8 with all the lightweight goodies. Anyone else able to find any differences?

Didn't a couple of guys do a D8 trial of light weight hardware vs stock hardware at hardcore earlier this year... Jay,Calvin , Ryan, and a few more??? (sorry I forgot your names and can't find thread)

Differences between the cars?

Does anybody know what the differences are between the D8 and the Atsushi Hara version?

Hey Steve. The new Hara edition is definately worth grabbing. Pretty much has all the candy needed to lighten the buggy and the 429us price tag is gravy considering the added hop ups will cost you 250 to update the original D8. The only real difference I can see in the photos are the 5mm shock towers and the longer rear shock tower/shock shafts.

One thing to consider to help make the buggy even lighter is to replace the steel hardware with (Team Associated) aluiminum screws and nuts. The new Hara buggy doesnt mention anything about updated "lightened" turnbuckles and hinge pins so another option would be Lunsford D8 kit. Replacing the screws/nuts and the turnbuckles could help reduce another 4-5 ounces.

On another note! I do not recommand running with the lightened (aluminum) drive train, although the buggy will be a few tenths per lap faster. The durablity is low. Use the worlds edition drive train or the stock steel. Hope this helps.

For that price only a made in china knock off.. lol, ya it's a kit. The only reason it's that price is all the aluminum drivetrain parts (most expencive lightening upgrade besides the chassie)

Thanks

THANKS Calvin Greatly appreciated and well put!
I don't really want to sacrifice durability for a couple of tenths of a second
Much rather improve driving style/ability.

Thanks again
