Model Trailers

Guys, I am seriously considering a custom built cargo trailer for my jets and large scale models. I would really appreciate any opinions on various brands and which company offers best quality and fair pricing. I am located in Belleville,Ontario so the closer the better...

Cheers-

Trailer for sale

I have a trailer for sale which I had specifically built for my model airplanes.

It was built in 1997 but has not yet been used !! It has been "hangered" in my garage since built.

It is too small for my 40% size planes, but is plenty big enough for jets, helis or even 35% size planes

See it here

Hi Marty...I have almost the exact trailer you have pictued in the gallery and love it. Mine is also a Pace, but the side door latch is flush mounted and everything else appears to be the same. I'm sure you know the price of one of those, but you have to think of it as an investment. If you buy one similar and a brand name like Pace or Wells Cargo etc., they seem to hold a really good resale value, if you decide in the future to sell it. Also if you buy one with the options in the picture(fold down door, side door, high ceiling) it appeals to a lot of people like motorcyclist, gocart racers, contractors etc. Besides you can tell the wife how handy it will be to help move people, transport the lawn tractor, trips to the dump(NEVER!) and you can store stuff in there in the winter. I looked at a lot of them before buying the Pace, but like it the best. I know it's a lot of money but I heard an add saying that they will lease one for 75.00 per month..just a thought.. Gary

Gary, can you tell me more about what a trailer like this would cost, and who and where in Ontario makes or sells. I really have just started to make inquiries. The lease option sounds like a possibility?

Thanks guys for the info, keep it coming...

Cheers-

Jim, thats a great story mate! I can see who is boss in your home
you mention a price of about $1800 for a 5x8 is that a resonable price to expect for that size cargo trailer?

That 6X12 that you have pictured will cost you about 4000.00 canadian with taxes and all, however, if you start taking off options you could bring down the price by another grand. I believe Jim's price was in US dollars and he can correct me if I'm wrong. Just go to the convenience store and pick up a recreational Auto Trader, there will be lots of adds from local trailer dealers in your area, in there.....Gary

Marty,
Gary is right, the $1800 mentioned in my article is the normal price for a 5X8 cargo price in US currency. The only thing I would almost say is a must, is a side door for access to the stuff you pack in the front. There are a few pics of the trailer "She who must be obeyed" let me purchase, on the bottom of this page:
