Just a couple of questions.After many years away from helis i just assembled a Trex 500 and am using a JR 700 receiver with crystal.I noted most are just using velcor tape is this wise with this type of receiver?I can remember wrapping them in the Venture 50.This little gem seems to have no vibration at all.Second one Heading hold or not?I have a 780 gyro with this and i am used to steering the tail in normal mode right or wrong? Your thoughts please, any way what a rush this little thing is back to helis again just testing in the garage super precise rig!!!!!

Wayne: Vibration is the enemy of all electronic devices. I am old school and have learned to wrap my RX's with vibration-absorbing foam to isolate the receiver.

Having gotten into electrics a few years back, I have changed my ways a little bit by using Velcro to attach my RX's to my smaller helis like my 450's and 250's. But that is because there is no room for foam-wrapped receivers. For larger helis and aircraft, I still wrap all my RX's in foam first, then velcro that to the aircraft/heli.

Ultimately, it is personal preference, but the cost of adding some foam insulation is cheap insurance from vibration AND provides some additional protection in the event of a crash.

Yes it is pretty tight in there for the Rx but i will wrap it.Looked good without it ahaha, it just seemed so tight thought i was missing something.

I was also a big fan of making my Rx's all nice and cuddled in foam. I've seen many electronics fail from vibration.

I see you're using an FM Rx.

The newer Futaba FASST Rx directions warn NOT to wrap in foam because they are sensitive to heat.

I have morphed the two methods and use 4 strips lightly adhered to my FASST Rx's and then use some kind of strap to hold the Rx in place (velcro, elastics, etc). Even some self adhering foam tape works well for the little guys.

That way, they get the vibe dampening and a good amount of air circulation.
