Coverite lifted

Hey all,
I purchased a plane at auction covered in coverite. The back turtle deck near the tail empanage has become loose. I am just wondering if there is a glue that I can use to tack it down and reshrink? I did try to get it to retack but I think age has played a factor. I was also thinking of a strip of ultracote over top to tack it down? Any thoughts?

Re: Coverite lifted

If you can find some Coverrite for fabric you that would work. Coverrite can be hard to get as it is solvent based which can be an issue if you are having it mailed/shipped. Another product that I have used in place of Coverite is Balsaloc by Solarfilm in the UK. Balsaloc is water based so no shipping issues and no odours when applying.

Re: Coverite lifted

The usual cause is balsa dust on the surface. Try a vacuum or a tack rag. Stits aircraft paint works good as an undercoat, I softens with heat, but it mixes with the color. Coverite can be painted.

Re: Coverite lifted

Thanks for the replies,
I ended up just taking a couple strips of white ultra cote and ironing down over the seams that were lifted.. it looks to be holding well. I am only looking for quick fix to get me through a few flights. I just want to get used to the plane and then I will recover it as I will be float flying with it for sure.
Thanks again
Brad
