My advise on this is buy a package of each, 2/56 rods and clevis from your LHS then get a length of 5/16 dowel. Make sure it is straight grained. To assemble measure how long the pushrod has to be and then cut your dowel about 8" short. You might need a longer rod at the tail. Drill a hole through the dowel about 2" in from each end. Lay out your dowel and 2 rods with clevis's on the bench for the right length. Put a 90' bend in the wire and insert in the hole so the rod is along the dowel, wrap with thread tight and ca glue it so it is solid. I also put a piece of heat shrink over it but it does not need it. After installing the push rod put a 1/4" piece of fuel tube over the clevis's. Also lock the clevis's with a 2/56 nut so they cannot rotate in flight and come apart.
If this helps you can use them again just by replacing the dowell for a longer or shorter rod. Then you are recycling parts. To me you want to use a good hookup for your controls.

I use a lot of bicycle spokes. Just drill out the servo horn for the end that has the bend and the head on it, it acts like a Z bend and will stay put. On the other end you can either thread the spoke with a 2mm or 2-56 die or use a solder link (no adjustment) or better yet a threaded coupler and a quicklink that is threaded.

One old wheel is MANY pushrods!!
