I have HH and FMS planes but the prices are getting to be a bit much. I have been looking at Dynam planes and wondered if they are good value for the money. You seem to get a lot of plane for what they charge.

Any opinions?

I have had several Dynam planes.

I have a P-51 that is nice to fly. The ESC crapped out on the first day. It just died on take-off. Poor quality ESC I guess.
Replaced it with a Hobby King ESC and it has flown amazing since. The retracts are a bit fudgy but they work fine. It tends to nose-over a lot, you just need to have a switch setting with high rate and high expo and then use that setting on landing. Oh- I also had to cut cooling access into the nose to get better airflow over the battery, but other than that and the initial ESC problem, this plane still flies trouble free.

By far my favourite plane was and still is the Dynam Sukhoi. This is the plane that made me give up nitro. When I bought it, I found it flew as good as my previous #1 favourite, a nitro 45 Kaos. That plane flew for 5 minutes on glow. The Sukhoi flies amazing. 3S4000 flies me around 7 minutes and it does all the aerobatics you can throw at it. Last summer I swapped out the RX with an HK 3 axis gyro RX- it flies even better now. I've had it for 4 years now. In my hangar its my first pick when I want to go out and have fun on the weekend. This plane has given me no problems other than the hinges coming apart due to wear and tear. The hinges on this plane are not really hinges, but just a foam seam. I repaired them in one evening using CA hinges.

Have the Dynam PBY. Flies great. Was a real dog at first. I had to do a lot of tweaking to set up CofG, but once I did it flies great.

Lastly, had (*had*) a GB. Worst plane of the bunch. Flew like a dog. Got rid of it.

I had the Cessna C-188. Flies beautiful. As Max said, Dynam ESC quality is very bad. First thing I did is replace the Dynam ESC. Their Tiger Moth, Waco and F6F Hellcat also very good. (just replace their ESC)

I have a small Dynam Spitfire and fully agree the esc was the planes only pitfall.

both my Dynam's the ESC blew up immediately. In the big dynam 1.3m spitfire, it nearly burned the plane up. Still spells liked burned electronics. I have the Su26 also, which I rigged up with FPV. But coming from a Precision Aerobatics plane, it feels heavy and sluggish - however I am spoiled by the PA katana.

I trust the eflite and parkzone foamies more as their oem power systems just work out of the box, and I am lazy

I had two dynam planes. AT6, replaced esc. Dc3, flew stock. They were great flyers. Wore out the AT6 and converted the Dc3 into a slope soarer.
I would get more.

I've had the Dynam tigermoth for 2.5 years, it's been a great winter flyer, and occasional throw in the car and fly anywhere plane. It's reliable no maintenance, easy peasy flier.

Well, I think I am sold on the Dynams. I have some Lemon rx's and a few 30 amp esc's that are just sitting around looking for work so I am going to take the plunge and buy the T-28 and the Waco. I am just so impressed with the pricing. Thanks for the info gentlemen.

I enjoy the SU26 as well, replaced the esc with a horizon one out of another plane I no longer fly before the first flight. I really enjoy the peaks biplane as well. I also never used the esc it came with, just didn't want to take a chance after all I read about them failing. Great planes!

Like most ARFs, the Dynam models are a good starting point but need some tweaking to really get the most out of them. I have the Me-262, Bf-110 and Bf-109, and all of them needed some changes and modifications. Nothing really major, but enough that you'd want to do them before flying.
