Hahaha. I just went through the plane balance routine with my wife.

How heavy is this new 38% plane? I would think a heavier plane would be better suited for IMAC.

Yup, a heavier plane (within reason!) = more wing loading = smoother precision aerobatics! One of Mark Leseberg's stated reasons for cutting down the wingspan on the Dalton ML Extra 300 was to increase the wing loading.

This plane may be a jinx! Just as I was picking it up we had a cloud burst @ home, 1" in 40 minutes. was going to re-maiden it yesterday morning, another inch... and it so damn muddy here I can't get the scale out of the barn, without gettin' my boots sucked off my feet.

It had a fairly significant weight reduction, enough servo extensions to make a harness for a pony, the heaviest 6V NiMh battery I've encountered, and 12 oz of lead. Hopefully I can get it weighted this afternoon.

Edit: Weighs in at 41.5 lbs full of full RTF (I'd of emptied the fuel tank, but that's 217 cranks to empty, 217 cranks to fill)

Brent you should start a thread. About your move to 40%. Some of the things you find new, or different as you grow into it (them).
Just a thought. Kind of a rainy day project.

Got forced to do the last part of the salvage in the garage last night. Looked over and saw the Yak sitting there. Could almost hear it say, "You lookin' at me, ah $h--".

Who'd of thought 32 hours of pre-flight inspection wasn't enough for a plane that was supposed to be RTF? guess I should have got the magnifying glass out. WAIT, I did!!!
